If you finish your whitetail or exotic hunt early, there are still plenty of hunting activities to be enjoyed at SJK Ranch. Whether you want to relax on a group dove hunt or try your hand at chasing wild hogs with a spear, the fun won't stop until the day you leave.

Hog Hunting
Hog hunting offers an exciting and challenging experience in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. SJK Ranch is crawling with these invasive pests, and although they are known for being highly destructive to the natural landscape, they are also a lot of fun to hunt and have become an integral part of Texas hunting culture.
Hogs can be hunted out of stands or on foot in a spot-and-stalk manner, and there is no limit on how many you can shoot or when you can hunt them, which makes them a great add-on to any hunt at SJK Ranch.
Pig Spearing
Pig spearing, also known as pig sticking, takes the excitement of a hog hunt to the next level by embracing a traditional, primal hunting technique that requires you to get up close and personal with the hogs. These hunts are conducted out of our special pig spearing stand with feed placed directly below it. This stand not only allows you to stay concealed at close range but also puts you in the perfect position to spear a pig from above, with 360 maneuverability.
This hunting method requires a lot of patience, but when successful, it is a rush unlike anything you have felt before. Hearing the hogs come in and start munching on corn directly beneath you will make even the most experienced hunter's heart pound!
Dove Hunting
After wrapping up a big game hunt, hunters can also enjoy an authentic Texas dove hunting experience in the unique landscape of the Hill Country. Dove hunting is one of the most popular hunting activities in Texas because of the relaxed, family/group hunting experience it offers to hunters of all ages and skill levels. Our fields on the ranch are filled with doves and offer a target-rich, action-packed hunt in beautiful surroundings.
SJK Ranch is located in the Central Zone for dove hunting in Texas, and the season runs from September 1st to October 27th, with a second season from December 13th to January 14th (per the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department).
